Meet the Visionary: Arianny Mercedes, Founder Spotlight
Hailing from Santiago, Dominican Republic, Arianny Mercedes has been able to pave her way to success and has become a beacon for women and underrepresented groups in STEM, dedicating herself to mentoring and advocating for equal opportunities in the tech industry.
Arianny Mercedes is renowned for her commitment to diversity and inclusion. With a diverse career spanning HR, management consulting, DEI, engineering, and talent acquisition, she has left an indelible mark at esteemed companies such as Fidelity Investments, Accenture, and American Express.
A graduate of The University of Virginia, Arianny achieved summa cum laude honors with a major in History on a pre-law track and double minors in Statistics and Economics. During her time at UVA, she authored an extensive 80-page research project as part of the DMP History honors program titled "New Deal, Old Racism." This insightful work delved into how the FDR New Deal overlooked the needs of Black individuals, exacerbating the socio-economic gap between Black and White Americans, widening disparities in wages, skill sets, and livelihoods.
Arianny is set to commence her journey as a JD/PhD candidate, demonstrating her dedication to delving into employment and labor law. Her ambition extends to expanding her passion for labor history beyond borders, encompassing the transatlantic world in her scholarly pursuits.
She authored the book “The ABCs of What You Can,” a children’s book covering diverse careers showing children that they can explore diverse careers outside of traditional ones. Some careers include beautician, sanitation specialist, UX designer, and Zoologist.
In both corporate and startup settings, Arianny has been instrumental in championing efforts towards fostering more inclusive work environments, influencing corporate culture, and initiating industry-wide conversations on diversity within STEM fields. In 2019, she established Revamped, a global career consulting agency dedicated to empowering professionals, institutions, and enterprises in unlocking the full potential of human capital. To date, Arianny has collaborated with over 800 professionals worldwide, guiding them in mastering their professional brand, refining their toolkit, securing high-growth careers, and creating personalized learning plans for career advancement. On the strategic front, she has partnered with EA Sports and Google, contributing to the development of equitable workplaces and enhancing overall experiences. Notably, Arianny secured a collaboration with Grow with Google, enabling her clients to access essential training and tools for skill and career growth.
In addition to her professional and academic endeavors, Arianny shines as a sought-after speaker and panelist. Renowned for her expertise in personal branding, career development, and diversity in technology, she has shared insights with top news organizations like NPR, CBS News, CNN, and LinkedIn. Her discussions span topics such as pay transparency laws, workplace diversity and inclusion, and the transformative influence of mindset in manifesting one's ideal job.
